December 2020 - Spreading Christmas Cheer

This year Do Good Mission teamed up with SOZO Loveland and Kristy White from Beauty Counter to sponsor two local families. Learn a bit more about the families below.

Reef & The Carneson Family

This is the amazing Reef and his wonderful family.

“Across the globe in South Africa, Reef Carneson went into remission after getting diagnosed with Leukemia at 5 months old. A complication from a bone marrow transplant led to a debilitating disease.

Ryan and Lydia Carneson knew the only way he'd survive was to pick up and move to the United States. They landed in Los Angeles for treatment. Reef then developed skin cancer. His doctors suggested he get a second opinion at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

The Carnesons picked up again, this time moving across the country [to Cincinnati].

The pandemic put both parents out of work. Going back would pose a risk to Reef's health. For many reasons, this forced them to move out of their home in Mason. They will stay in housing paid for by the hospital while Reef is treated for the next two months.”

The Richardson Family

Family Adoption.jpg

The Richardson Family has had a rough several years. From losing multiple family members to cancer to welcoming a family member's three children into their home. The mother of the household is currently working two jobs, trying to stay above water.

In talking to her, the strongest values that she shows is love for the children, determination to keep them healthy, happy, and safe, and all the while she is not taking government assistance.

We want to go above and beyond for the Richardson Family and give them an amazing Christmas to remember.
