October 2022
Halloween has always been a favorite holiday of mine. I love dressing up and being someone else for a day. For me I was Winnie from Hocus Pocus and loved seeing all the kids wave hi to me and ask to take a picture with me! I also love scaring people, I know it doesn’t go with our theme of doing good but what can I say!
So when the Morrow Arts Center was in talks about having their second annual Spookyville, I knew we just had to get in on this! So The Monster Mash was born!
Between the Spookyville Haunted House, Jeepers Creepers Trunk or Treat, and our Master Mash it was an event the whole family could enjoy! Families dressed up and danced the night away with us inside the gym. We even had an epic flash mob to “Thriller!” There were door prizes, food, drinks, and a raffle that benefited The Discepoli Family.
It was a great night and we look forward to next year’s Monster Mash!
We also found our last 2022 story, The Discepoli family. Their son Luca was born with an extremely rare genetic condition called Digeorge Syndrome. He was born without an immune system and for his safety was confined to the 4 hospital walls at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Things were finally starting to take a turn for the good with Luca when his mother suffered a fall from her attic and she landed in the ICU with a brain bleed. You can read more about their story and how to help here.
We also held our Do Good Workshop where the kids got to make Boo Baskets! They then surprised a neighbor or friend by leaving a basket full of halloween goodies at their door! It was a simple way to do good and make others smile!
