Spring 2023 Highlights: A Season of Family, Resilience, and Celebration at Do Good

As the vibrant colors of spring blossomed, so did the spirit of doing good at Do Good. Despite facing challenges and triumphs, our commitment to spreading kindness and making a positive impact remained unwavering. Join us as we reflect on the highlights of Spring 2023—a season marked by family, resilience, and heartfelt celebrations.

1. A Quiet Start with Quality Family Time:

We kicked off the season with a quieter tone, embracing the importance of family. A special family vacation to Disney allowed us to unplug from the digital world and connect with each other, creating lasting memories filled with love ❤️.

2. Marching On with Kindness Rocks:

In March, we embarked on a mission to spread positivity throughout the community by painting Kindness Rocks. This project coincided with a significant personal journey as Nikki completed her last round of chemotherapy. A momentous step towards a brighter future.

3. Earth Day Collaboration:

On Earth Day, Do Good partnered with Clermont Parks to plant 50 trees at Kathryn Stagge-Marr Community Park's disc golf course. A commitment to environmental sustainability and community beautification.

4. Overcoming Challenges:

The Spring presented its own set of challenges as a severe herniated disc confined me to bed. Mr. Do Good ran the show while I was down. I had a discectomy the beginning of April. The pain was gone but it was a slow 3 months to fully recover.

5. Welcoming the Mastin Family:

Our Do Good family expanded in March with the addition of the Mastins. Though faced with tragedy, we stand united in supporting Julie and Camden as they navigate life without their beloved Caylee. Read more about their story here.

6. Celebrating Hannah Grace's 6th Birthday:

April brought joy and celebration as we marked Hannah Grace's 6th birthday. The catalyst for Do Good's inception, Hannah Grace continues to inspire us all with her infectious spirit and warmth.

7. A Remarkable Victory:

April 16th marked a milestone as we celebrated Nikki's triumphant journey to being cancer-free after six months of battling. To honor this victory, FC Cincinnati joined hands with us, granting the family a VIP tour of TQL Stadium and season passes for the year. A surprise that exemplifies the power of community and shared moments of joy.

8. Launching the Do Good Podcast:

In April, we embarked on a new venture by launching the "Do Good Podcast." Available on Spotify, Apple, and YouTube, the podcast delves into inspiring stories, discussions, and special features. We even shot a special Mother's Day episode, exploring the power of love, resilience, and the remarkable women in our lives.

9. Remembering Uncle Greggy:

May brought both joy and sorrow as we said goodbye to one of our own, Greg Allison, fondly known as Uncle Greggy. A pillar of support for Do Good, Greg and his wife Angie were unwavering advocates from the early days. Their smiles and dedication, even in scorching temperatures, will forever be etched in our hearts. In honor of Greg's memory, we continue to strive for goodness with his spirit guiding us.

10. Teacher Appreciation Week:

May was dedicated to celebrating the incredible educators who shape young minds. We expressed our gratitude with Teacher Appreciation Week, highlighting outstanding teachers in our community. Mrs. Megan Davis from LMECC won the grand prize, and thanks to the abundance of tagged teachers, additional winners were Mrs. Reiners from LMECC and Mrs. Taylor Parker from Primose in South Lebanon. A small token of appreciation for the extraordinary impact teachers have on our children's lives.

11. Operation Make Someone Smile Happy Smile Day Workshop:

May's workshop, "Operation Make Someone Smile Happy Smile Day," resonated with the essence of spreading joy. Our little Do Gooders created smile plates and pocket hugs, distributing over 30 smiles to strangers. The simple yet powerful gesture turned around more than half of the recipients' bad days. It's a testament to the profound impact a small act of kindness can have on someone's life. Teaching our children the importance of making a positive difference, these workshops cultivate warmth and kindness in their hearts.

Spring 2023 unfolded as a chapter of resilience, compassion, and collective impact at Do Good. From the serene family moments at Disney to the joyous podcast launch, the triumphs over personal challenges, and the heartfelt celebrations of Nikki's victory and Hannah Grace's birthday, each highlight encapsulates the essence of our mission. We navigated both the highs and lows, acknowledging the loss of Caylee and Uncle Greggy and extending our gratitude to the remarkable teachers in our community. The workshops, Earth Day initiatives, and the commitment to spreading smiles all stand as testaments to the enduring spirit of doing good.

As we look back on these 11 highlights, we find inspiration in the diverse threads that weave our community together. Together, we've created a rich tapestry of love, kindness, and positive change. Let these moments propel us forward, united in our dedication to making a lasting impact on the world. Thank you for being part of our journey, and here's to the continued adventure of doing good together. 🌟💚
